I'm Bailey Taylor and this is It Girl.
This podcast is all about going deeper with the women's shaping culture right now.
Yes, we will talk about the style and the success,
but we are also talking about the pressure, the expectations, and the real work behind it all.
As a woman in the industry, you're always underestimated.
So you have to work extra hard in a way that doesn't compromise who you are in your integrity.
You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja.

How can this have happened in City Hall building?
How could this have happened in City Hall?
Somebody tell me that.
A shocking public murder.
This is one of the most dramatic events
that really ever happened in New York City politics.
I scream, get down, get down.
Those are shots.
A tragedy that's now forgotten.
End of mystery.
That may or may not have been political.
That may have been about sex.

In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd
was accused of fathering twins.
But the pregnancy appeared to be a hoax.
You doctored this particular test twice, Ms. Owens, correct?
I doctored the test ones.
It took an army of internet detectives
to uncover a disturbing pattern.
Two more men who,
had been through the same thing.
Greg Gillespie and Michael Mancini.
My mind was blown.

Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth About Sorority Life, with your host, me, Gia Judice, Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler.
Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush. Today I am joined by you guys as we get to hear your
wildest spring break stories, from people getting banned from hotels to hookups that never
should have happened, to horrific injuries needing immediate surgery, exotic pets being transported
across the country. I haven't heard of that before. We will hear it all. Let's get into it.
Okay, so first I'm going to share a little bit about my spring break.
So I actually, most of my spring breaks, I would go meet up with my family.
I know boring to me.
No, just kidding.
My family is so fun.
But our senior year, we all went to Cancun.
And I remember it was SDSU people and Boulder people.
And it was crazy because like everyone was like in relationships or had broken up senior year.
And then like all the Boulder people were hooking up with SCSU people.
And there was just like drama.
And it was really entertaining.
I was actually sober the whole time because I had like a bunch of health issues at that time.
So I was like watching it all happen and it was crazy.
But that's basically and of course like, you know, people, well not of course, but people were like cheating on their girlfriends who didn't come on the trip and like all this stuff.
And I remember it just caused like mass chaos.
But anyway, let's jump right into it.
So our first caller we have is Savannah.
Hey, Savannah.
Hi, how are you?
I'm good.
How are you?
I'm good.
Thanks for coming on.
So I heard you have a little story for us.
Tell us about your, or first, where did you go to school?
I went to school in Texas.
And I loved it.
It was the best time.
Sometimes I miss it all the time.
So fun.
And then what did you do for spring break?
I would say I did like two actual like college spring breaks.
Okay.
Freshman and senior year I did like the crazy.
spring break where you like do it through like just college or one of those programs. That's what everyone
did it. And freshman year, we went to South Padre. Okay. I know where that is. So gross to be honest.
No, it honestly is. But I mean, I feel like college spring break. It's like, okay, where can you get like
the cheapest for like the best? Exactly. And it was like so cold the whole time. And I just remember from
that trip, all the guys would host parties at their houses like the frat houses that they rented in
South Padre, like every single one got evicted. Every single one. So they would want to stay at the
girl's house. So I had like a 13 person house in South Padre. And then we ended up having like 13 boys
join us in one house. Honestly, that's fun. That's like, it's like the whole thing. Such a spring
break story. Yeah. And then where was your other one? Senior year I did Cabo. Okay. Sophomore year.
A lot of my friends went, but I had a wedding to go through. So I missed out on that one. Okay.
But got to do it senior year. I would say it wasn't like as critical.
as I feel like the iconic sophomore year Cabo trip is at my school. But it was still really fun and like to experience it because I'd never been. And Cabo is just like mango deck and all the things. Like it's just a whole experience. Love a good mango tech moment. Yeah. But yeah, really fun. So fun. Do you have any like crazy stories that pop out that you can think of? So sophomore year, my friends did the whole Cabo sophomore year spring break trip, which I missed out on. And one of my friends had been dating her
boyfriend for about like a year, I want to say. Okay. And they were going to like one of the DJ
concerts, like iconic spring break. You have to do it. And I want to say it was Diplo, like such a good
one. Like I would have died to go to one of those in Cabo. It's like sounds like a dream. And obviously
it had been a long day of like day drinking because he just booze all day. And at the concert,
her and her boyfriend got in like a screaming fight in this like EDM DJ concert. And he dumped her in the
middle of the concert. Of the concert now. Within Cabo surrounded by everyone. Everyone's been drinking,
broke up with her and they're on this spring break trip like together. That's horrible. A lot of my friends
kind of like had boyfriends like in the same fraternity. So it's very like connected. And he literally
broke up with her in the middle of the concert. That's so crazy. Yeah. College relationships are so
like unpredictable. Yes. I mean even me. I'm back with my college ex. Which I love. I love that.
But you never know what's going to happen.
And boys are just so immature at that age.
They're so immature.
And I just feel like drinking on spring break.
Like especially by like the last day, everyone's like cranky.
Just fights always erupt.
And college is like a bender.
It's literally a bad.
Especially if you're on spring break.
Spring break is never a break.
Yeah.
It's never been a break.
It's like how crazy can we be?
How many DJs can we see?
Yeah.
You literally need a break from the spring break.
Yeah.
But yeah.
So I was of course getting lots of calls from.
my like calm wedding spring break that I was on.
But yeah, like they had to like see each other the next following couple of days.
So did they stay like split up or did they?
They did.
I want to say.
Honestly, at least they were like done and it wasn't back and forth.
Yeah.
I mean, of course I think there was like convos had.
But I think it was pretty much like done after that.
I think that was like the breaking straw.
But like, oh my gosh.
So I ever got broken up with and.
Dumped at Diplo?
Don't that.
That should be like.
There we go.
That's so sad.
Dumped at Diplo.
Yeah.
So that was a crazy.
I know.
It's just like, but we made it up and we had an incredible senior spring break in Cabo and it made up for what was going on that.
Exactly.
But, yeah, it was really fun.
And spring break is just the best.
I wish we still had spring break.
Literally.
Can we have it back?
Yeah, a little work spring break.
So awesome.
Okay.
Well, thank you, Savannah for coming on.
Thank you for having me.
Yes.
Have a great rest of your day.
Thank you.
Okay.
The next person we have is Tiffany. Hey, Tiffany. How are you? Hi, I'm good. How are you? Good. I like want to call you
Tiff. I know. Oh, you can. Go for it. So what school did you go to? I went to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Okay, fun. And did you go on spring break, like, parties, trips? What did you do for spring break there?
Yes. I feel like we opted for Tahoe a lot because it was so close. Yeah. So easy. How far is it from there? Oh, it's like a 40-minute drive max.
Oh, that's awesome. It's so easy.
a lot of people have lakehouses up there.
So it's super just like easy, go on a boat, drink a lot.
Yeah.
It's ideal.
I deal for spring break.
I love that.
Did you, do you have any like specific spring break that was like crazy, like insane or have
a crazy story from it?
Yeah.
I was just one of those people in college where I was like, let's just drink as much
as possible.
Yeah.
Blacked out one too many times.
And that happened during spring break.
And what I remember is like it was like a bunch of the sorority girls, a bunch of the fraternity boys.
Yeah.
And we were all riding those little like bird scooters.
Oh no.
And I literally like one of the guys, you know, he was just being like trying to show off, he like jumped and landed on the scooter.
Like jumped up, landed on the scooter.
And I was like, I can do that easily.
So I jumped, fell complete like literally face planted onto the asphalt like flew.
No.
It was.
Because you were on it with him?
No, I was on my own and I was just like, oh, I can do that too.
Yeah.
Let me do it.
So I did it, face planted.
Like, there were just bruises and like just I scraped my knees.
Like I was wearing jeans.
I remember I burned like a hole through my jeans.
And that was at the beginning of the trip.
So I had to do like boat days and stuff after that.
I was like hiding myself.
Was like your face okay?
My face was okay.
Somehow.
Okay.
At least your face was okay.
I'm like, let's crop everything below the face.
It was insane.
Was it like road rash all over?
Oh yeah.
It was so bad.
Like bleeding.
Just like, and how embarrassing too.
Have you been on a bird scooter since?
I can't say I have.
Honestly, at least like it was just like that and not worse because I've heard really bad
stories about being on bird scooters.
And even like in college, I remember us going because at SDSU, they first they had these like bikes
that were called OFOs.
So we would take those around.
Right. But then they had bird scooters and the lime. And I remember like I was never on it alone. It was always like me and a girlfriend or like me and a guy like taking it to the next party. Like going to the next place. It was never like a singular person on it. Oh my God. So I'm shocked that like honestly nothing ever happened to like any of my friends. But you hear like crazy stories about them.
It's you should not drive or not drive one. I guess ride one when you're drunk. Oh my gosh. That's my PSA to everyone. It's like rough.
Everyone out there if you're on spring break and there's bird scooters, do not ride them drunk.
Yes.
Or with somebody else.
Yes, exactly.
One time I accidentally loaded, it was like 200 credits worth of, I forget if it was bird or lime on to my like app.
And I, when I was drunk, of course, obviously.
But then I was just like stuck with it.
I ended up using it all, which is kind of horrible that I used it all.
But anyway, I was like, how did I do that?
but so did any like since you guys you said most people had lake houses did anyone did like were they
parents like houses then yes did you guys ever get like did the parents ever kick you guys out or did
anything bad ever happen surprisingly no I feel like the parents houses that we did go to were chill about
it yeah just like oh yeah it's fine you know like my parents would never but some of these people
they let their like kids do a free-for-all so never
got in trouble there. I feel like we definitely had like, you know, noise curfew, though,
because it's in Tahoe, like, need to keep it down after a certain, like, time. But yeah,
it was, it was honestly so fun. I'm like, I wish I could go back and do it again. Right. There's
nothing like a good college spring break, honestly. For sure. And being with all of your friends
where I'm actually, I'm going to Coach Hell this year and it's with my whole college friend group.
Oh my God. That's going to be like a reunion. I'm like kind of feels like spring break. You should.
treat it like spring break. I know, right? Yeah, that's so much fun. We have like a bunch. I think there's like
four houses between all of us. Oh my God. We're just going to be having a time. I honestly feel like I'll
go the first two days and I might not make it the third. Our bodies can't handle. No, literally. I can't
hang like I used to. I know. And it's disappointing. Honestly. I know. I'm like, I wish I could go back
to those days. Yes. It made bad decisions, but at least, right? But you live and you learn. Exactly.
It's all makes for good stories. Oh my God, for sure.
Do you have any other crazy stories from Spring Break?
I mean, not that I can think of.
I feel like that one I really went all out because I had just broken up with a boyfriend.
Yeah, it was one of those situations where I was like, let me just go crazy.
Yeah.
The other ones were like also drink a lot, but never got myself into too much trouble.
Yeah.
That's great.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, thank you for coming on.
I was great chatting with you.
You're welcome.
I was good chatting with you too.

What I come to realize is that when people think that they're dating these AI companion,
they're actually dating the companies that create this.
We're experiencing one of the great.
greatest tech accelerations in human history.
And let's be honest, that can be messy.
There's no playbook for what to do
when an AI model hallucinates a story about you.
But it's my belief that we should all benefit from this moment.
Mostly human will show you how.
My goal is to give you the playbook, so you can benefit.

You may know me from my It Girl series I've done on the streets of New York over the years.

You know, I like to say I was kind of like a silent ninja. Each week, I have unfiltered conversations
with female founders, creatives, and leaders to talk about ambition, visibility, and what it really
takes to build something meaningful in the public eye. Because being a it girl isn't about the spotlight,
it's about owning it. I think the negatives need to be discussed and they need to be told to be
people who maybe don't do this every day, just so they know what's really going on.
I feel like pulling the curtain back is important.

You know Roll Doll, the writer who thought up Willie Wonka, Matilda, and the BFG.
But did you know he was also a spy?
Was this before he wrote his stories?
It must have been.
Our new podcast series, The Secret World of Roll Doll, is a wild journey through the hidden chapters of his extraordinary, controversial life.

And he was really good at it
You probably won't believe it either
Okay, I don't think that's true
I'm telling you
I was a spy

Okay, guys, we have our next caller here, Zoe.
Hey, Zoe.
Hey, thanks for having me on.
Oh, my gosh, thanks for coming on.
So where did you go to college?
Okay, so I, well, I'm currently a senior at UCLA.
And I just, awesome.
literally just got back from spring break.
No way.
The craziest thing happened.
I was on, so I was on my senior spring break in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica.
I've never heard of people going to Costa Rica for spring break in college.
I feel like, especially because we go to school in California, and I don't mean to sound like, just because I grew up in the Midwest, like, I have friends from Midwestern schools and we would, and they all go to Florida or like going to Mexico is a big deal.
Yeah.
But I feel like because Mexico is so close, we did that our freshman year.
Okay.
And then from there, it was like, well, we can't go back to Mexico.
If we go, we went our sophomore year.
And then like, we all went a broad junior year.
And so we were like, where do we go senior year?
And a bunch of friends were decided to get like Airbnbs in Costa Rica.
Okay.
So like me and my whole group of friends in my sorority decided this year that like we were
going to go to Costa Rica and then just so happened that there were other groups from our school.
And then also, I feel like, and you know this, like you went to SDSU, but I feel like in California, once some schools start getting an idea, then the other ones.
If they know people from here and there.
Yes. And like that typically happens with Santa Barbara, you see Santa Barbara and then Cal Poly because they always have the same spring break as us because we're all quarter. So whatever.
It ended up being a bunch of California school kids down there, which is really fun.
but I just got back and there was a lot of wildlife in Costa Rica and I kid you not.
So I opened my suitcase yesterday and I'm unpacking.
When you got back?
Yes.
Back in my college apartment and there is a snake.
Like I literally have a video of it, but there was like a snake.
How big?
It was like this.
I mean, probably like less than a.
inch thick, but then...
Thick?
I thought you were going to say like long.
But then long, like, I don't know.
I did.
I had no idea what to do with it.
You are kidding me.
I opened, I was unpacking any things and I don't know how a snake got in my bag.
Like, we stayed in like a pretty secure Airbnb and I like I literally have no idea how it got
back and how I took a plane.
Like I don't know.
I would freak out.
What did you do?
Well, I mean, I didn't claim it on my customs sheet.
So I don't know.
I don't, didn't.
I'm, like, that's where my head came.
Where did you put it?
Did you grab it?
Did you touch it?
Okay, so I didn't do anything with it, but I called, like, Los Angeles Animal Control.
And they told me when they showed up to grab it, like, to get the same.
I, I didn't do anything with it.
But I am not someone who's scared.
I don't know.
I grew up going to summer camp, like, and I would see wildlife a lot.
Like, I not.
So you grab it?
No, I did not grab it.
But I'm not, I wasn't like, ah, running away.
It was like, okay, there's the snake.
And my mind goes to.
It's like a garden snake, but then like animal control showed up and they're like, oh,
this is a venomous snake.
And I don't know how you got this through TSA.
Yeah, that's crazy.
Which is like so crazy.
But anyway, so that's one of like, what if it would have bet you?
Um, I, I didn't like my mind doesn't want to go there.
It was crazy that it, it, it showed up.
in my bag. No, that is crazy.
We're all your friends, like, freaking out.
Like, if they had something in their bag.
They were, everyone was freaking out, but then more, like, people were wanting to take
videos of it and post it on TikTok because they were like, this is going to go viral.
You said you have a video?
Yes, I do.
I need to see.
Okay, wait, I'm going to show this to you right now.
I feel like I'm going to have nightmares.
There's no way.
Do you see that?
There is...
Literally next to my flip-flops.
You are kidding.
But the animal control said it was venomous.
So that is crazy.
Is that in the tub?
No, that is in my suitcase.
What if it would have like went out of there?
Did you fit in there?
I don't know how it crawled in there.
I had taken my stuff out of my suitcase.
I'm like mortified.
I know.
I'm like never going on vacation.
I had taken all my clothes out of my suitcase and my toiletries and everything like unpacked
because there was a, we were in an Airbnb and there was a place to put my dresser and everything.
and stuff in my dresser and everything.
So I wasn't actively using my suitcase.
And then I didn't see it in there.
It had you been like when you were packing and like went away for a second.
It just like slithered in there.
But that means it was in my Airbnb.
That's crazy.
That's crazy.
Okay.
To make matters worse, I have another story.
Okay.
Let's hear it.
And this didn't happen to me, but it happened to my friends on the trip.
Okay.
And I think this is a PSA to people or just any girls.
listening in particular, but anyone, I would not recommend doing an Airbnb in a foreign country.
Oh, definitely do not do that.
That's what we did.
We did Airbnb's and I would not recommend that because I just, I don't know.
Like, I've heard too many things go wrong and what happened to my friends that they were
not saying, we were staying in Tamarindo, which is like a beach town in Costa Rica.
And then I had friends who were staying like more towards the jungle.
And they, basically the first night they were there,
one of their like sliding doors on, you know,
like a sliding glass door that goes out to their pool or whatever,
wasn't fully locking.
And they had just gotten in from their flight.
It was really late at night.
And they had like flagged it to the Airbnb people.
They're like, hey, this is not locking.
This needs to be fixed tonight.
And the people with Airbnb were super nonchalant.
Like, oh, no, no, no.
That happened sometimes.
Like, you're totally safe.
You're totally fine.
Yeah.
And so that sparked some suspicions.
And then it was literally an Airbnb full of like 10 girls.
And in the middle of the night, they woke up to somebody at the, they thought maybe it was multiple people.
They didn't know.
But there was literally someone in their room at the foot of their bed rifling through their bags.
That is terrifying.
And you know, and I know everyone in that moment thinks they're going to like perk up and say,
something in the person in the room, but if it's pitch black, like, you didn't, first, their first thought was,
oh, that's a, like, there's an animal, because it's pitch black in their room, they think, oh, that's like,
an animal, that's a, there's a monkey in our house, like, there's something that's, and it was, no, it was a person
who had gone in into each of the rooms and I'd taken phones and passports of people, like, of my
friends in, in this house. And that is horrible. People had had, like, phones that were, like, next to their
head and like terrifying. And so did they just freeze like they were so scared. Yes. Some of my friends
were still like they don't know if they had like weapons either. So that's terrifying. Exactly. And so
some of my friends slept through it. And then some of my friends were like texting each other while
still in bed, like trying to like almost like just pretend like they were asleep because their
hope was like, okay, these people are just going to steal some of our stuff and like we'll be okay.
they didn't even know what to do with the police
and they called the police and the police didn't show up
until like three hours later.
That is so scary.
So I would definitely recommend.
Well, thankfully they're all okay.
Yeah, I feel like people really try to do
like the cheapest options possible.
It makes sense your college students.
But if you're going to a foreign country,
especially if you don't, you know, like,
I don't, I just, I don't know.
Like if you don't, everything about it is foreign.
You don't speak the language.
You don't, whatever.
Like go to.
A hotel or resort where there's security or something.
The Airbnb situation, I mean, that just like really freaked me out that that had happened to my friends.
And we were all there and we were all like, do we go home?
They stayed not in the Airbnb, but they went to a resort.
But they think it was maybe like an inside job with the Airbnb because they were so nonchalant.
Exactly.
That's so crazy.
